Microsoft ending support for Windows 7 within year
In just under a year the Microsoft support for Windows 7 will end. This support includes security and service patches, technical support to the operating system and other components which keep you safe online and in the office. Without these, your PCs will become more vulnerable to security risks. All businesses should be looking to migrate their systems onto the Windows 10 platform before the end of this year (2019). The options are either to upgrade the Operating System to Windows 10 if the underlying hardware is compatible or retire the machine from use.
This, of course, is not to say that your Windows 7 machines are going to stop working in Jan. 2020; they will continue to run as normal. Microsoft have been having a strong push to Windows 10 for some time, initially offering the Windows 10 upgrade free of charge and including the upgrade in some Office 365 packages. Windows 7 was released in 2009 so some say it has had a good innings, and certainly Windows 10 offers additional benefits, mainly it would seem to Microsoft themselves.
